Friday 26th January 2024

Dear Families,

It's been another busy week at JKPS! Have a read below for a little snippet of the learning that's been going on, to find out why our Eco Council needs your help, and a reminder about our soon-to-be up and running KS2 Choir.

Next Tuesday, we are looking forward to having the second of our Collaborative Review Days (CRD) for the year, when leaders from across Anthem come together to review, discuss and celebrate our curriculum and learning. Our focus will be on reading and writing.

Have wonderful weekends all,

Patrick

Admissions

Sibling place: Please do let us know if you have applied for a place for Reception 2024 for a younger sibling. Please email admissions@judithkerr.anthemtrust.uk

ECO COUNCIL NEED YOU!

Eco Council met this week to discuss plans for how to create safer roads around our school. They are now running a competition to design posters promoting road safety. Posters should use vibrant colours and have a clear message. Whilst entries should be A3, they can also be created using a computer graphics programme and then printed as A3.

All entries need to go to class teachers by 9th February. Remember to include your name and year group!

Some of this week's learning...

'Pete the Cat' has been helping the nursery children with their understanding of number, whilst Reception have been learning how to look after their planet. Look at their amazing displays!

Year 4 have been building enclosures they have designed for endangered animals.

Meanwhile, Y5 have been learning all about asexual reproduction in plants. They learnt what a clone plant looks like, have re-potted cuttings and are now watching them grow!

JKPS Choir

School Choir (KS2): We still have places for the choir. Choir will take place after-school (on Wednesdays) and any children attending will need to be fully committed to attending each week, as well as any adhoc performances. There will be a charge for attending, equivalent to after-school clubs.

If you think your child would be interested in being part of the choir, please email admin@judithkerr.anthemtrust.uk, with 'School Choir' as the subject header and the following: 'My child, (name), would be interested in joining the school KS2 choir and would be fully committed to attending each week.'
