Dear Families,
I would like to start by extending my heartfelt thanks to you all for the messages of support following my appointment as Headteacher from September. I am greatly looking forward to taking on the role and leading our school forwards in the next chapter of our journey. Between now and then, I will continue in my current role as Deputy Headteacher whilst working closely with Vicki and the SLT to plan for the Autumn Term.
On Wednesday, we had the third of this year's Collaborative Review Days. It was great to show off our wonderful Early Years practice to them - the visiting Anthem leaders were hugely positive about the quality and strength of the learning they saw. We then showed them how we are adopting the Anthem Reading Strategy and the positive impact this is having on reading across the school. The review led to lots of professional discussion about how we can best teach reading. Thank you too, to our new Chair of the ACC, Duncan Baldwin, who joined for the day. (See below for the call for new ACC members.)
Next week is Year 6 SATs week. Good luck to all our Year 6's and their teaching team who have worked so hard to prepare themselves for the assessments. You have all been and will be brilliant!
Wishing all lovely weekends - enjoy the sunshine!
Best wishes,
Patrick
