Dear Families,
There was something different coming into school on Monday; each of the corridors was lined with fabulous sensory paths set up to facilitate children's movement breaks. Whilst the focus was to largely to support children whose neurodiversity or additional needs can make school a challenging environment at times, children (and adults) across the school have also enjoyed exploring them! Read below to find out more about our activities during Neurodiversity Celebration Week.
We had a very special visitor to school on Wednesday morning: it was both an honour and great pleasure to welcome Ambassador Berger from the German Embassy. He was visiting alongside Education Counsellor, Rainer Sulzer, Andrea Pfiel and Thorsten Egner from the Goethe Institut, Anthem Trustee, Sal Wilson, one of our founding governors, Peter Johnson, and Frederik Rissom (Anthem Community governor). The visit was focused on celebrating all we do to promote early language acquisition and bilingualism at JKPS, as well as exploring opportunities for collaboration. It was a huge success, and the visitors were incredibly impressed with our children and all they saw, and we're all excited about working together more in the future.
To share a quote from Andrea Pfiel (Deputy Director and Head of Language Department North West Europe at the Goethe-Institut): "Witnessing the joy the children had during their German classes was truly inspiring. Their remarkable proficiency in the German language, coupled with the vibrant international spirit within the community, stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of the school."
Schönes Wochenende!
Patrick
