Dear Families,
Children have been well into the flow of their learning this week with their new texts and humanities topics. In other news, it was great to catch up with the Goethe Institute earlier this week and agree further support for our German provision as part of their GIMAGINE project.
With the cold weather, it is good to see so many of the children coming to school well wrapped up. Do please remember to clearly label all hats, gloves and scarves to ensure they can be returned to their owners in case they get lost.
We appreciate that mornings can be tricky for us all at this time of year. Please do, however, ensure children are in school by 8:50am. After this time, the side doors will be closed and they will be registered as lates. This is to help give them a settled start to the day with our morning reading routines.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Patrick
Other messages for the week:
Uniform days - please note that uniform collection day is now on Wednesday mornings at drop off
Following the incident over the holidays when a driver crashed a car into the school playground, a group of parents are focusing on improving safety outside the school. We are doing two things:
- Collecting signatures for a petition to Southwark Council to ask for action on road safety around the school. Please come and sign at drop-off next week if you haven’t already.
- Carrying out a transport survey to gather views on what would help our school community to travel safely and sustainably. Results will help us lobby Southwark for support and funding to improve safety around the school. Please take part by next Wednesday (17th), we’d love to get everyone’s views and you can win an after-school tea for four at a cafe opposite the school! Click here
