Safeguarding
Judith Kerr Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We all work together to create and maintain a safe, happy environment for the children at our school and take action when there are child welfare concerns.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in our school is Alice Palmer. He can be contacted via the school office (see Get in touch).

Online safety
Online safety at JKPS is all about measures to keep children, and adults working with children, safe while using digital technologies. At school this can include computers, laptops and tablet computers, and at home it can also include devices such as games consoles (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch), mobile phones and anything else which allows interactive digital communication.
- Online safety concerns safeguarding children and young people in the digital world.
- Online safety emphasises learning to understand and use new technologies in a positive way.
- Online safety is less about restriction and more about education about the risks as well as the benefits so we can feel confident online.
- Online safety is concerned with supporting children and young people to develop safer online behaviours both in and out of school.
The online environment is an integral part of children’s lives, so it is important that we work together as a school community to ensure that our children have a healthy relationship with technology and support them to use it responsibly.
Our approach is informed by our E-Safety Policy, which you can access below.

Taking and using photos at school
When your child starts at JKPS, we ask families to complete a permission form to allow images of your child to be published by the school on the school's website and social media accounts, in newsletters and other publications, and sometimes promotional materials. The photos may also be used for similar purposes by our Trust, Anthem.
You can change your parental preference at any time by contacting the school office.
Taking and using of photos or other digital images by parents and carers
We are happy for parents and carers to take photos and videos at school events for personal use, but please could we remind you that these images must not be shared or put online (e.g. on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc) unless they are only of your own children. This is to safeguard all members of the school community.
